It's Memorial Day. That means honoring those who died while serving the country's armed forces. It also means baseball. I've got 4 afternoon plays today and then there will be 3 more this evening.
1:05pm: Yankees +100 LH Jordan Montgomery (2-3, 4.30 ERA) vs. Orioles -110 RH Dylan Bundy (5-3, 2.92)
Baltimore (25-23) comes into this one as losers of 7 straight games. New York sits in first place in the AL East with a 29-18 record. I like the Yankees here as a slight dog with a +1.329 TTF rating. One unit.
2:10pm: Red Sox -185 LH David Price (2016: 17-9, 3.99 ERA) vs. White Sox +166 LH David Holmberg (0-0, 0.87)
The big news here is Price's season debut after suffering an elbow strain in spring training. He was not very effective in his two Triple-A rehab starts. Holberg has just 8 relief appearances in 2017, but they have been very effective. Great price on CWS here, especially with a +0.529 TTF rating. One unit.
4:05pm: Diamondbacks +100 RH Randall Delgado (1-0, 3.82 ERA) vs. Pirates -110 RH Trevor Williams (2-3, 5.93)
Arizona dropped it's last two in Milwaukee, but still sit at 31-21 on the season. Pittsburgh (23-28) lost last night's game vs. the Mets 7-2. A big +2.075 TTF advantage here makes AZ a 2 unit play.
4:10pm: Brewers +122 RH Matt Garza (2-1, 3.60 ERA) vs. Mets -135 RH Robert Gsellman (2-3, 6.45)
Milwaukee swept the Mets in a three game series at home earlier this season. New York's victory over PIT last night brought them to 21-27 on the season. I give Garza the SP edge over Gsellman and the TTF gives MIL a +2.006 edge over NYM. Brewers for 2 units.
7:07pm: Reds +181 RH Lisalverto Bonilla (0-2, 6.17 ERA) vs. Blue Jays -203 RH Marcus Stroman (5-2, 3.30)
In this inter-league game, the teams come in with similar records. Cincinnati (24-25) and Toronto (23-27). Excellent value on CIN here with a +0.268 TTF advantage. One unit.
7:10pm: Phillies +138 RH Jeremy Hellickson (5-2, 4.28 ERA) vs. Marlins +153 RH Edinson Volquez (0-7, 4.82)
Just 35 wins combined for these two teams. Big SP edge here for Philadelphia with Hellickson. Attractive price here on PHI with a +0.912 TTF advantage. One unit.
8:05pm: Rays RH Erasmo Ramirez (3-0, 2.92 ERA) vs. Rangers LH Martin Perez (2-5, 3.77)
Texas' Adrian Beltre (calf) may make his season debut here. They can use him as they have lost 6 of 8. Tampa Bay comes in as winners of 4 of 5 games. Nice +1.8 TTF advantage for TB. Good for a one unit play.
