4/2 – MLB – Giants at Diamondbacks in Opening Day NL West match up – Premium Play

I've got this NL West match up as my TTF rated play of the day for Sunday.
4/2/2017 4:10 PM EST
          San Francisco Giants

LH Madison Bumgarner (2016: 15-9, 2.74 ERA)

-133 -1.5 (+125) Over 8 (-110)
          Arizona Diamondbacks

RH Zack Greinke (2016: 13-7, 4.37)

+120 +1.5 (-145) Under 8 (-110)

This season, the Giants' Bumgarner will be able to turn things over to new closer Mark Melancon (free agent signee) who notched 47 saves last season for the Nationals and Pirates.  This should go a long way in solving last years late inning relief problem, 32 blown saves.  Bumgarner had a nice spring, where in 7 starts, he posted a 2.52 ERA in 25 innings, striking out 23.

The Diamondbacks have a new manager in Torey Lovullo.  He'll send Greinke out in the opener who is hoping to improve on last years performance.  Greinke pitched just 10.2 innings this spring, striking out 5 with a 5.06 ERA.

Arizona has a fairly potent offense that was 3rd in the NL in runs scored last season and they're hoping that CF A.J. Pollock (fractured elbow in 2016) will return to bolster it.  Still, that didn't stop them from losing 95 games.

Bumgarner appears to be in good form heading into Sunday's game.  SF won 9 of 10 games last season at Chase Field.

SF has a huge +1.3 Triple Trend Formula (TTF) rating for this match up and even at -133 on the ML it gives the best value of the three Sunday games.  Take the the Giants -133 for 1 unit to start the 2017 season off on a winning note.

Please feel free to read a detailed explanation of the Triple Trend Formula (TTF) here.

Also, please be aware that for the first couple of weeks of the season I'll be using hybrid statistics taking into account a combination of 2016 regular season, 2017 spring training and current year stats.  By May 1st, I'll be using all 2017 numbers.

Additionally, until May 1st, all wager recommendations will be one unit.  After that date, the 1-3 unit scale will go into effect.
