5/25 – MLB – Evening play added to Thursday’s TTF card

I've got one play this afternoon out of a pretty full matinee slate.  I'll also likely have some evening action posted later.

2:20pm: Giants -101 RH Jeff Samardzija (1-5, 4.57 ERA) vs. Cubs -109 RH Eddie Butler (1-0, 2.00)

Chicago has won 6 of 8 (all at home) to move to 23-21 on the season.  San Francisco (20-27) has dropped 3 of it's last 4 games.  No doubt Samardzidja, who has pitched well recently despite the poor record, gives SF a fighting chance here.  However, I like the hot Cubs with a +1.716 TTF rating here, to keep on rolling at home.  One unit.

8:10pm: Diamondbacks -111 LH Robbie Ray (3-3, 3.91 ERA) vs. Brewers +101 RH Zach Davies (5-2, 5.44)

Arizona comes into this series opener as winners of 9 out of their last 10 games.  Milwaukee has dropped their last 3 contests.  Davies has a formidable won-lost record, but his underlying stats tell a different story.  AZ has a +0.877 TTF rating for this one.  Good spot for a unit play.

Good luck, players!
