5/15 – Hawks at Wizards

7pm - Atlanta at Washington -2.5  O/U 198

The series returns to the Verizon Center for game 6 with the Hawks up 3-2 after falling behind 2-1.  A third straight win will give them a conference final date with the Cavaliers, who defeated the Bulls last night to advance.

C Al Horford was the hero in the game 5, 82-81 win with his last second rebound and put back.  He's been doing that sort of thing all season for Atlanta and is the steadiest of the "Big 4"  He'll need help if they are going to win tonight.

Washington fell apart in the 4th quarter Wednesday but still looked like they might pull it out after F Paul Pierce's 3 pointer with 8.3 seconds left gave them the lead.  It wasn't to be.  I like that G John Wall had a decent game after a 2 game absence and I expect he'll be even better tonight.

This has been a close series and the prospect of Atlanta winning 3 in a row is a tough one to bet on.  Subsequently, we find the Wizards favored here as I think they should.

Despite the low scoring 163 total game 5, it seems that the sharps are looking at the over set at 198 for this one.  I disagree.  As the series goes longer, each possession becomes more important and shots going up later in the clock.

Washington 89  Atlanta 85
