4/19 – MLB – Four evening games added to Wednesday’s TTF-based handicapping card

I've got two afternoon match ups that warrant a play per the Triple Trend Formula (TTF).

1:45pm: Pirates +107 RH Gerrit Cole (1-1, 5.29 ERA) vs. Cardinals -117 RH Michael Wacha (1-1, 3.00)

Pittsburgh (6-8) is without Starling Marte (80 game drug suspension) and has lost two straight.  St. Louis (5-9) is showing some life, winning the first 2 games of this series (both 2-1 contests).  I like PIT, with a +0.217 TTF match up rating, to take the finale.  One unit.

3:40pm: Marlins +140 RH Edinson Volquez (0-1, 3.45 ERA) vs. Mariners -155 RH Felix Hernandez (1-1, 2.95)

Miami (8-6) looks to take the rubber match of this series after last night's 5-0, one-hit, victory.  Seattle (6-9)  tries to do the same behind ace Hernandez.  MIA has a +0.248 TTF rating here.  Worth a one unit play.

3:00pm Update - 4 evening plays

7:05pm: White Sox +186 RH Dylan Covey (0-0, 1.69 ERA) vs. Yankees -208 RH Masahiro Tanaka (1-1, 8.36)

Chicago (7-6) has been riding red-hot Avail Garcia (.440 BA) whose 3-run homer helped secure last night's 4-1 victory.  New York (9-5) ended it's 8 game winning streak with the loss.  CWS rates a +0.314 TTF advantage here.  One unit.

7:10pm: Phillies +115 RH Vince Velasquez (0-2, 9.00 ERA) vs. Mets -127 RH Robert Gsellman (0-1, 9.28)

The 5-8 Phillies managed a 6-2, 10 inning win in last night's series opener.  New York (7-7) has now dropped 4 in a row.  Take PHI with a +0.066 TTF advantage.  One unit.

7:35pm: Nationals -120 RH Joe Ross (2016: 7-5, 3.43 ERA) vs. Braves +110 RH Julio Teheran (1-0, 0.95)

Washington (8-5) took last night's series opener, 3-1.  Atlanta (6-7) saw it's five game winning streak snapped in the loss.  I like the Braves, with Teheran on the mound,  and their +0.324 TTF advantage here.  One unit.

8:10pm: Indians -137 RH Trevor Bauer (0-2, 8.44 ERA) vs. Twins +124 LH Adalberto Mejia (0-1, 4.05)

Cleveland and Minnesota are both 7-7 coming into this meeting.  I like the young Mejia to perform more like his 2nd start than his first.  With a +0.226 TTF match up rating, the Twins are the play for one unit.
