NFL – Week 17

Heading into week 17 of the NFL season, my FSI formula picks are 88-104-6 (46%) -62.98 units, -10.71% ROI.  I'm going to forego capping the games with the FSI this week (but will pick it up again for the playoffs).  I feel that with so many games being relatively meaningless, It'll be easier to pick the games myself.  They're all 1 unit plays.  Picks in bold.

1pm - Jacksonville at Indianapolis -4     The Colts salvage a .500 season as Andrew Luck redeems himself from the Colt's earlier loss to the Jag's and Blake Bortles in London.

1pm - New England -8.5 at Miami     Although both teams have already punched their playoff tickets, seeding is still unsettled for both.  I just don't think Dolphins QB Matt Moore will be able to crack the Patriots defense.

1pm - Chicago at Minnesota -6     Matt Barkley threw 5 interceptions last week in their 41-21 loss to the Redskins.  The Vikings look to complete a .500 season with this home finale.

1pm - Buffalo at N.Y. Jets +3.5     Todd Bowles may be coaching for his job and he'll have to look no further than the opposing sideline to see the reality of the precarious NFL coaching profession as Rex Ryan was let go by the Bills this week.

1pm - Dallas at Philadelphia -5.5     The Cowboys should be in preservation mode having clinched home field throughout.  Carson Wentz would like to have WR Jordan Matthews available, but I doubt he will.  Still, Philly should prevail against what will like be Mark Sanchez getting the majority of snaps at QB for the Cowboys.

1pm - Cleveland +5.5 at Pittsburgh     Le'Veon Bell won't play, Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown will receive "rest consideration" according to Steeler coach Mike Tomlin.  Brown's QB Robert Griffin III has plenty to play for.

1pm - Carolina at Tampa Bay -3.5    The Buccaneers have slim hopes of a playoff berth, which should give them some motivation.  I don't see Panther QB Cam Newton bringing his "A game" to this one.

1pm - Houston at Tennessee -4      The Texans are the #4 seed in the AFC regardless of the outcome.  Matt Cassel will be at QB for the Titans in place of injured Mariota.  Tennessee also has RB DeMarco Murray.  I like that tandem to win over the Tom Savage led Texans.

1pm - Baltimore -1.5 at Cincinnati     Both teams disappointed at no playoff's this year, but Raven's WR Steve Smith will go out a winner.

4:25pm - New Orleans +7.5 at Atlanta     The Falcons have the #2 seed and a week off at stake.  Saint's QB Drew Brees and Atlanta's Matt Ryan will likely produce a lot of points (the O/U is 57)  Can't lay 8 here on either side.

4:25pm - N.Y. Giants at Washington -7.5     The Giants are locked into the #5 seed and will likely just look to stay healthy heading into next week's wild card game.  I'd be surprised if there was much Odell Beckham Jr. vs Josh Norman activity.

4:25pm - Seattle -8.5 at San Francisco     Fortunately for the Seahawks, they still have a shot at the #2 seed and a bye next week.  Unfortunately for the 49ers, they are not playing the Rams.

4:25pm - Oakland +1.5 at Denver     Raiders Matt McGloin starts for the injured Derek Carr.  The Broncos will give ample time to rookie Paxton Lynch.  Oakland is playing for a first round bye and possibly the #1 seed.

4:25pm - Arizona -6.5 at Los Angeles     The Cardinals have Carson Palmer, David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.  The Rams have punter Johnny Hekker.  Enough said.

4:25pm - Kansas City -4.5 at San Diego     The Chiefs still have hopes of the AFC West title.  Charger QB Philip Rivers tries to salvage a win in possibly the last game in San Diego.

8:30pm - Green Bay at Detroit +3     This one will decide the NFC North Division.  Marquee QB matchup of Aaron Rodgers vs Matthew Stafford.  The Packers won 34-27 in Green Bay back on Sept. 25th.  Lions turn the tables here.
