A relatively light college hoop schedule this Friday night, but I still have a play rated with the FSI.
OAK +3 vs VALP
Oakland (12-3, 2-0 Horizon League) has bounced back to win their last 3 after losing back-to-back game to Northeastern and Michigan State in December. The Grizzlies are led by the trio of Jalen Hayes, Martez Walker and Sherron Dorsey-Walker.
Valparaiso (11-3, 1-0) won their lone conference game so far, beating UIC 70-59 on Dec. 30th. their 3 losses came against Santa Clara, Kentucky and Rhode Island. Alec Peters, Tevonn Walker and Derrik Smits will be the counter to Oakland's top 3 players.
I don't like the fact that they lost to URI and Santa Clara at home. This should be a tight conference game as these two squads figure to be at the top all year, but I like Oakland getting the points here.
