8/26 – NCAAF – Oregon State at Colorado State – Rams debut new stadium – Beavers seek rare road win

Oregon State comes into Fort Collins for this opener after going 4-8 in 2016.  Coach Gary Anderson has the Beavers heading in the right direction, but will he be able to keep them on track in this, his third season?  A lot will depend on the play of juco transfer QB Jake Luton who transferred to OSU from Ventura Community College, where last season he threw for 3,551 yards and 40 touchdowns, both school records.

Homestanding Colorado State (7-6 in 2016) has a brand new stadium as third year head coach Mike Bobo hopes his team lives up to big expectations.  5th year Sr. QB Nick Stevens will be called upon to  lead the high powered offense (35.3 ppg in 2016) of the Rams as he did at the end of 2016 when they won 4 of 5 before losing in the Idaho Potato Bowl to Idaho.

Oregon State has lost 13 consecutive road games, including 0-11 in Anderson's two seasons at the helm.

The Calculated Relative Spread (CRS) rates Oregon State as a 0.29 point favorite, primarily because of their PAC 12 pedigree.

Pick:  OSU +3.5 (one unit)

Good luck, players!
