5/29 – Lightning at Rangers

8pm - Tampa Bay +140 at N.Y. Rangers -150  O/U 5

Game 7 of this Eastern Conference Final takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York.

There has been a wide variation in scores in this series with results like 2-0, 6-5 and what seems like everything in between.  One constant, though, has been the Rangers scoring at home, which has been minimal with just 4 goals in 3 games at MSG.  In game 7, I like a low scoring contest here and will be taking the under.

New York is 6-0 in game 7's since 2012.  The last 3 by scores of 2-1.  Tampa Bay beat Detroit 2-0 in game 7 in the first round of this year's playoffs.

The Lightning have won 4 of their last 5 at MSG so they know they can win there.  G Ben Bishop will need to rebound, though after being pulled in game 6 after allowing 5 goals on 26 shots.  Ranger G Henrik Lundqvist let in 3 goals on 39 shots in the game 6 win and has played well since the 6-5 OT loss in game 4.

The percentages are in New York's favor with their recent game 7 record.  The fact that the home team has won 62% of game 7's in NHL playoff history and this season the home team is 3-0 in game 7's.  Rangers advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

New York Rangers 2  Tampa Bay 1
