5/18 – Lightning at Rangers

8pm - Tampa Bay +130 at N.Y. Rangers -140  O/U 5

Well, since all of the Rangers 13 postseason games have been 1 goal affairs, there's no reason to think tonight's game will end up differently.  The only questions that remain are who will come out on top and what will the final tally be.

The high-scoring Lightning managed just one goal, Ondrej Palat, in Saturday's 2-1 loss and they'll surely be looking for more tonight.  I don't know if they'll find the back of the net but I see Palat, Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson and Nikita Kucherov all firing at G Henrik Lundquvist any chance they get.

Speaking of Lundqvist, he stopped 23 of 24 Tampa Bay shots in game 1.  Expect the shot total to increase tonight.  Rick Nash needs to get going if New York is going to realistically have a chance at the Stanley Cup.  Tonight's game 2 at MSG would be a nice time to start.

Lightning G Ben Bishop has outstanding in the playoffs, but when you have the King at the other end of the ice you almost have to be perfect.  He's been close.

With 9 of New York's 13 playoff games ending in a score of 2-1, I'm going with that score tonight.  Therefore, the under is a solid bet.  I'll also back the Blueshirt's as they have won 7 of those 9 2-1 contests.

N.Y. Rangers 2  Tampa Bay 1
